Soprano Maggie Armand is a native of Houston, Texas. She is currently enjoying singing with the Houston Grand Opera in their 2021-2022 season performing in Carmen, Die Zauberflöte, and Turandot. Before relocating to Houston, Maggie enjoyed singing in the NYC opera scene. Her recent credits include, Flora (The Turn of the Screw) with Mannes Opera, and Morgana (Alcina) with Manhattan's Sing Through Central. In 2019, Ms. Armand made her European debut Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte) in Berlin Germany. In 2018, she completed a degree in vocal performance at the University of Oklahoma studying under Les Flanagan and Marilyn Horne. She capped off her time at OU performing the title role in Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel; she sang other various roles in the university’s productions of Don Pasquale, Eugene Onegin, and Suor Angelica. Ms. Armand has won awards and various regional competitions, including being a four-time finalist in Texoma region National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition, and winning 1st place in the 2018 Oklahoma Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. Maggie’s other credits include performing internationally with the Opera Viva-Italy summer festival, Flint Hills Opera Workshop, and Berlin Opera Academy. Maggie completed her master’s degree at Mannes School of Music in New York city under the tutelage of Diana Soviero and continues to build her technical foundation with Ms. Soviero.
